Watching my Dad design intricate machines from a young age ignited my interest in engineering. My innate curiosity to discover how things work, the challenge of tackling new problems, and the excitement of finding the most efficient solutions drives me to study engineering at university.
Studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry here at Sherfield allows me extend my intrigue beyond the realms of the classroom, and to develop my skill set to prepare myself for the difficult problems I may face while studying engineering. Albert Einstein once said; “Scientists investigate that which already is; Engineers create that which has never been”. It is a goal of mine to create and design something to have a positive impact on the world by using the creativity I have developed to help shape the future of our world today.
For me applying to University has been a difficult process. In particular trying to decide what type of engineering I would like to do. After many talks from professionals in all different types of jobs it became clear to me that many of them didn’t end in a career in the same field as their degree and the best piece of advice was to follow what interested me the most.
