Many thanks to all those parents who joined us on Tuesday for the Year 8 into 9 Information evening. Special recognition is due to pupils Ali H and Emily D for giving up their time, speaking so clearly and concisely.
Mr Bridges took a group of pupils including some from Years 7 and 8 to Bristol on Wednesday for the Lego League Tournament. It was a great success and is likely to become a regular feature of the spring term calendar.
It has been another busy week for Year 5, during which a number of children have been involved in a Climbing Wall trip, starring in the School’s Photo Shoot and taking part in Forest Schools sessions, in addition to normal lessons and clubs.
Years 3 and 4 enjoyed an exciting day in London on Tuesday at the British Museum, where they saw a fascinating array of art and artefacts from around the world. This supports their studies of ancient civilisations.
More historical fun was had by Year 7 and Mr Holmes, with the judging of the Motte and Bailey castle construction on Friday. A range of entries included various materials such as Minecraft building blocks to the more edible efforts made of chocolate sponge! Winners were:
- Ella B & Lucy G
- Joshua C
- Harry D & Les
The highlight of the week for me was the Reception assembly by Mrs Farragher’s class. The re-telling of the Rainbow Fish story was a magical reminder about the importance of friends, generosity, kindness and sharing. Well done to everybody and thank you for a wonderful end to the week.
