Last week was very busy indeed, as we celebrated the festive season.
Pre-Reception Christmas Nativity
Our Pre-Reception and Pre Prep children performed their annual Christmas nativity shows last week, enjoyed by many of the parents and staff alike and followed by some seasonal refreshments. The children did a wonderful job, the Pre Prep performance including Aliens from Outer Space!
Guide Dogs for the Blind
The Nursery children had a visit from Guide Dog puppy, named ‘’Weaver,’’ a German Shepherd, who is training with his volunteer walker Mrs Ellen Young. Mrs Young agreed to come in to the setting to draw out 3 names, with the help of the children of course, to choose for our ‘Name a puppy fund’. We were very lucky to raise enough funds to sponsor a newborn puppy next year when it will be named. The parents have donated generously since our Sponsored Walk in the summer and Friends of Sherfield very kindly topped up our funds to the required amount. A big thank you to everyone concerned.
Christmas Party Day
The children were very excited on Thursday as it was our annual Christmas party day with games, Christmas activities and we all also enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch. Some children dressed up in their party clothes and Christmas jumpers.
Ice Rink Opening Performance
Ava Wilson (Year 5) was one of the performers at the opening of Weymouth’s seasonal Ice Rink (pictured). Ava met and performed for a number of VIP's including the Mayor of Weymouth, MP Richard Drax and a number of other local dignitaries. Ava opened proceedings with a wonderful version of her 'Belle' (from Beauty & the Beast) routine.
