Happy New Year! Though the festive season is hopefully a time of rest as well as celebration, many of our pupils are still busy competing in all sorts of ways, during the school holidays.
Pippa K (Year 4 pictured) took part in a BHS Riding Schools Regional Qualifier on 3 January, winning 1st place in her Class (Dressage). This qualifies her for the National competition on 4 April in Warwick. The horse she is riding is Striker. Pippa also took part in a Showjumping Competition on 15 December, as part of her Pony Club, and took 4th place.
Harry B (Year 7) played in the year end Junior Golf Competition for North Hants and won the competition, playing to 10 shots better than his handicap. As well as the main competition, Harry also won awards for best score over the five chosen hardest holes and straightest drive plus he also came second in nearest to the pin competition. Harry's handicap following this success has reduced by 3 shots.
Harry D (Year 7), is on the Ski Partnership with Sherfield School. As well as training indoor at Hemel and on dry slopes at Aldershot, Harry trains in the Alps between October and April with Kandahar Ski Team. This year Harry is targeting a podium at the English Championships in Italy, during February half term. His trial competition was in Italy for the Anglo Scottish Championships last week. Over 3 races Harry won 3 medals - runner-up in the slalom and two bronze medals for the giant slalom and one in the invitation only slalom. Super performances from him, in a field of 50 boys.
Good luck to all our teams and individual competitors, for a successful 2018.
