We have an exciting Science Week planned for our pupils here at Sherfield School. This week will provide a great opportunity to engage pupils in hands-on, practical Science. Last year’s Science week was a great success and created a real buzz amongst the pupils about Science.
The theme of the week will be exploration and discovery, where we will continue to encourage our young people to think about everyday discoveries and how they affect their lives by exploring Science in the world all around us. Cyber Security is a huge problem that many of our children potentially could face and our Sixth Formers will be addressing this during the course of the week.
Activities planned include workshops by B.P. and Novartis, along with speakers from Reading University and Airbus. In addition, we will be running a competition prior to Science Week, to design an invention that will benefit us either currently or in the future. This can be either in the form of a 3D model or poster. The judging will take place on 13 March and a prize will be awarded to the most innovative invention or idea.
