Many thanks to all who came out to support our enormously talented Sherfield musicians last night, in our first live Rock & Pop concert for 3 years! We were treated to an array of performances ranging from student rock bands, to our school ensembles and choirs, and soloists and duets too. Sherfield Orchestra got the evening off to a stirring start with themes from Mission Impossible and Doctor Who. Chamber Choir and Sherfield Singers brought equal measures of fun and heartfelt with songs such as ‘Price Tag’, ‘The Flood’ and ‘I Lived’. Our well established performers such as Ruby in Y12 belted out some impressive numbers in the usual (but no less impressive!) fashion, but it was also a wonderful chance for our rising starts such as Ashmik in Y6, Beatrix in Y4 and George in Y3 to give debut performances, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. Recently formed student band ‘Outline’ comprising Year 8 and 9 students got the crowd going with their rendition of ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’ – their supporting contingent even brought banners to cheer them on! It would take too long to name all of the fabulous performances, but a highlights video will be available for you to enjoy soon. A big thank you must go to Caroline in Y12 who is taking BTEC Music Technology, for her stellar work behind the sound desk – a very important role indeed! Thank you for supporting the music and performing arts departments and we look forward to welcoming you back again for our Vocal Concert and Battle of the Bands in May.
