Year 7 has been learning about perimeter and area in maths, calculating these for two of the classrooms in Wynstow. They were set the challenge of researching how much it would cost to carpet both classrooms, one with a luxury carpet and the other with a cheap and cheerful floor covering. The children visited various showrooms and websites and discovered that even cheap carpets cost a lot of money, particularly when adding in fitting, underlay etc. Mr Brain visited the Year 7’s during their learning walk, where the children got the opportunity to look at each other’s posters and offer peer feedback on their research. He was very impressed with the work that the children had done, their thorough research and the posters that were created. Mr Brain awarded prizes to the top three posters. Congratulations to India, Oliver A. and Allegra!
