Last week, Years 8 and 9 were entertained and educated by the members of The Trench Experience. The children were very much enthralled by the tales of the living conditions of the trenches during WW1 and the numerous life and death situations faced by ordinary soldiers on both sides.
Among the highlights were the children being militarily drilled by the Colour Sergeant and, particularly impressive, the array of uniforms, weapons and authentic memorabilia on show which helped to bring the whole experience to life. The afternoon was an ideal ‘curtain opener’ for the forthcoming Battlefields Tour to northern France later this month.
