Boarders’ Trip to Windsor Castle – October 2017
The entire boarding house, including Mr Macmilian (Housemaster), Miss Briggs (Boarding Tutor) and Mr Mason (Boarding Tutor), went to Windsor Castle. A very historical and interesting part of England’s history. The highlight for me was St George’s Chapel which is an amazing building with impressive architecture dating from 1348. The royal residence at Windsor in the English County Berkshire also has many other features.
The audio tour guide explained everything in as much detail as we wanted it to, in several different languages for everyone to understand and listen to which is important for us as international students. The State Apartments were very cool to see because you had a view of how the Queen lives in times when the castle gets used for residential purposes. The massive Doll House on the other site of the room was very popular and we had to queue for about half an hour but it was definitely worth the wait. The Doll’s House is approximately 5 feet high and about 3 feet wide, a dream for a small child growing up but in fact it wasn’t used as a toy.
Everyone enjoyed the trip to the castle. It is great to see other cultures and other objectives. The trip was a real success and it was recommended to visit the Castle again.
