We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Senior Deputy Head, Mr Tony Wilde, who will be joining us from September 2022. Tony is replacing Chris James-Roll who leaves us at the end of this academic year to take up a Headship at Cundall Manor.
Tony studied Sport Science at the University of Brighton before gaining experience as a sports coach and resident assistant at the International College, Sherborne School. After completing a PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University, Tony started his teaching career in Kent grammar schools before making the move to the independent sector. As Head of Sport, Tony joined Ashford School, a co-educational day and boarding school and went on to complete an MA in Educational Leadership at the University of Warwick.
In a 14 year career at Ashford School, Tony worked on the Senior and then Executive leadership teams, gaining valuable pastoral, academic, co-curricular and whole school strategic and operational leadership experience. Keen to engage with the local community, Tony has previously served as Chair of Governors at two state primary schools and helped to establish an incredibly popular and successful Learn to Swim Programme which was shortlisted for a Community Initiative of the Year award.
Tony is married to Krystyna and has two children. He’s a keen cyclist, camping enthusiast and an avid winter sports fan. Tony believes that snow wins out over sun every time!
We look forward to welcoming Tony and his family to Sherfield this summer.
