The Friends of Sherfield annual public Family Fun day took place the last Saturday in September within the Sherfield school grounds, which positively glowed in the glorious late September sunshine. The event was, as always, a great success and saw over £1500 raised for the school and charities.
The day started at 11am, with our students from the boarding house standing in the entrance with the donation buckets and collecting the money for our charity.
Later on that day we had a race, in which all members of the school including children, parents and teachers took part. During the race, fun was had by all who took part and watched! However, in the end the winner of the race was Nomso who took first place, followed by Joel and Lewis, who came in second and third place.
After the amazing race we had all kind of activities such as face painting, different types of animals (donkeys, rabbits, spiders…etc), giant inflatable slides and a delicious barbecue.
The day followed by our students having solos and performing with their bands on stage, we had from Year 6 to Year 12 performing.
The day ended up with our traditional Tug of War with our four houses: Buckfield, Lydney, Loddon and Wynstow. The winners were Loddon who took first place from Wynstow.
This has been an unforgettable weekend for the children, parents, teachers and everyone else who came to support!
