The installation of the state-of-the-art 3G all-weather pitch is now almost completed as part of the ongoing development of the school by GEMS Education.

The MUGA (Multi Use Game Area) will enable the school to play competitive hockey and football all year round; great news for our multi-talented sporting pupils. Works should complete by the end of September 2018.

The 3G artificial turf surface allows for the impact of year-round multiple sports – providing realism of play for ball-bounce and roll. Replicating natural turf, there is also low resistance to turning, sliding and non-abrasiveness which offers greater safety to players.

GEMS Education and the school have worked closely with local planners and consultants (Architecture Initiative, Wynne-Williams Associates and JPP Consulting) to prepare the scheme design whilst developing the project. This has included taking into consideration and responding sensitively to the varying aspects and context of the site given its location next to our beautiful Grade II listed manor house, the Sherfield Conservation Area, adjacent Buckfield Copse and an existing footpath. Once the pitch is in place, the surrounding land will be landscaped to grass lawn with additional screening to the Reading Road boundary.

Currently on-site sporting facilities include grass junior and senior football pitches, a grass cricket pitch, grass athletics and rugby field, two blocks of netball/tennis courts and a recently refurbished sports hall.
