We launched our Accelerated Reader programme last year and started the race to become word millionaires. Little did we know then, that COVID 19 would try to put a spanner in the works!
However, during Lockdown, Sherfield pupils continued to read, continued to take quizzes from home, and the word counts continued to mount, with some pupils reaching not just the million milestone, but even more!
We are delighted to announce that the following pupils are now members of the Millionaires Club for the academic year 2019/20:
Varch (3 million), Shreya (4 million) and India (1 million) - Year 9
Alana, Reeva, Eliza and Isaac (all 1 million) - Year 7
Shravan (5 million) - Year 6
Raghav, Darina and Amelia (all 1 million) - Year 5
James and Aliza (both 1 million) - Year 4
They are now proudly sporting star badges on their blazers in recognition of their achievement.
Very well done to all of you for your fantastic efforts with reading last year! Particular congratulations to James and Aliza who have achieved this status at the tender age of just 7!
The word counts re-set for this academic year – so, to coin a phrase “who wants to be a millionaire”?
