2020 will certainly go down in history and, for future generations of students at Sherfield, will probably form part of the history and science curricula!
But, for now, positivity is essential, and the promise of vaccines brings us closer to reuniting with friends and family – whether in the UK or abroad. It will also allow our school to return to the vibrant and exciting learning environment we all enjoy. There’s plenty to look forward to, including Young Voices, sports matches and music concerts.
This term sees more students join the Sherfield community, giving us the chance to make new friends. We look forward to meeting all the new pupils and their families when we make our physical return to school, as well as the new teachers we have so far only seen on Zoom.
Though the last 12 months may have had its challenges, it has also forced us to become more adaptable. We’ve all had to adopt new methods to learn, interact and socialize in order to enjoy the activities we love to the fullest extent possible.
So, let’s take advantage of these skills and make 2021 the year we push ourselves out of our comfort zone and try something new, whether it be learning an instrument, take up performing arts, trying a new sport or becoming the next Picasso. Sherfield School gives us the opportunities and support to do this, so make the most of it and enjoy our new experiences.
Happy New Year from the Sherfield School Community.
