Our annual Fireworks event this evening is a great opportunity to join together as a community and celebrate a great British tradition. This week in assemblies and during tutor time, pupils have discussed the reasons behind the celebrations and the circumstances leading to the Gunpowder Plot in 1605. As we also cast our eyes forward to Remembrance services this weekend and into next week, it is so important to reflect on the past and learn from the events and experiences of previous generations. As we encourage our children to be tolerant, respectful and active global citizens it is important that we celebrate together and recognise our diverse community.
You may also have noticed before half-term that Sherfield became a film set, as we welcomed a film crew into school. I must congratulate all pupils and staff who were involved in the creation of a new school video. The film is now ready and we would like to give you the first look. A huge thank you to Ava in Year 7 for her starring role. It is intended to provide a flavour of Sherfield life, but in a short and concise film. There is a link to the video within this newsletter - I hope you enjoy watching it.
