The children of Year Two decided to do this challenge after learning about Malawi in Geography, where many children their age miss school due to having to walk an average of 6 kilometres each day in order to collect water, much of which is not clean. All the children enjoyed the walk round the school grounds and took part in great spirits with no moaning about tiredness. They were rewarded with an ice lolly at the end of their endeavours. So far we have already raised over £600 which is a huge total and will really change children’s lives. Thanks also to Mrs Zeferework, Mrs Maggs and Miss Hope for accompanying them on the amazing walk as well as Mrs Seaborne for taking the lead and inspiring her pupils to think about the wider world.
