Year 1 had a great afternoon on Monday carrying out some snow-themed science with the remnants of Sunday’s snow. The children enjoyed investigating why we put salt on the roads in icy and snowy conditions. They took plate fulls of snow and added salt to one, leaving the other without. They observed the changes closely and timed how long it took the snow to melt. They found out that the snow with salt melted quicker. Great investigating Year 1!
They also children attempted to make some snow volcanoes using bicarbonate of soda, dish soap and vinegar!
