At Sherfield, our Sixth form students are encouraged to expand their horizons, rise to new challenges and become the next generation of leaders. Last week, our new leaders in Sixth Form were announced, including subject ambassadors, senior house captains, peer mentors and a sixth form marketing director.
Continuing the Leadership theme, our Year 12 students had the opportunity to discuss what it means to be a leader with our Executive Head, Mr. Brain. Florence in Year 12 explains:
'In last week's PSHE lesson, Year 12 had the opportunity to talk to Mr Brain about his experience of leadership, both past and present. He spoke about his hardest and most challenging moments in his career, as well as the qualities and attributes needed for effective leadership. At the end of his talk, we held a Q & A session, where we were able to ask specific questions about his experience of leadership. From his honest and frank answers, we got a really good idea of what it takes to be a leader and the initiatives we should take on to develop our own skills in leadership, to ensure that we become the next generation of leaders in our future careers.'
