On the 10th and 11th March this year, students from Year 12 and Year 13 A-level Biology took part in the British Biology Olympiad (BBO)
The British Biology Olympiad challenges and stimulates students with an interest in biology, putting their practical and theoretical skills to the test. It is an opportunity for students to expand their talents beyond the classroom curriculum, and enables them to demonstrate their talent and be suitably rewarded with officially recognised certificates.
This is a national competition designed to assess students’ application and problem-solving skills. This year over 10,000 students took place from over seven hundred schools. This was the first year that Sherfield has taken part and our students delivered a stunning performance, achieving two silvers, one bronze, one highly commended and two commended.
Silver - Gethin & Ryan
Bronze - Gemma
Highly Commended - Kiera
Commended - Will & Matthew
Congratulations to all our students who took part. This is a very tough competition, but they all did themselves and Sherfield proud!
Mr. Andrew Molin, Head of Biology
