On Thursday 31st March to Saturday 2nd May and, more recently, Friday 29th April to Sunday 1st May, three groups from Years 10 and 11 travelled to Exmoor to practice and qualify for their Duke of Edinburgh Silver expedition section. Supported by Mr Saunders, Miss McGroarty, Mrs Page and Mr Bridges, the three teams travelled west from Porlock to Lynmouth and then south to Withypool. Teams walked approximately 15km per day along coastlines, hiking up incredibly steep hills and crossing the moors. They witnessed an Exmoor Hunt, were chased by cows, fell in mud, camped in beautiful locations, got rained on and all in all, had an enjoyable and unforgettable experience. The DofE Leaders here at Sherfield are incredibly proud of them and look forward to working with them on their DofE Gold in Year 12.
