On Thursday 15 March, 16 students attended the Rotary Technology Competition held at BCoT.
The school entered 4 teams in total across the three age groups. The students had 4 hours to design and make a device that would fire a ball vertically through a loop. They all worked very well in their teams to complete working catapults. As well as completing the prototype the teams also had to produce a design portfolio to explain how they got to their final design.
Sherfield students excelled in this section and won the award for Best Portfolio for both the Foundation and Intermediate age category. This is particularly special as this was the 2nd year running the year 10 (Tilly P, Emma H, Lucy T and Emilie G) team had won this award and the head judge asked to keep their portfolio as an example for future competitions.
