In Senior Prep and Seniors Maths lessons on Pi Day we stormed the Sports Hall and pupils took part in a Pi Chain race. Working in teams, the activity was to form the longest paper chain using the digits of Pi. Lots of running was undertaken mixed in with memory skills and great teamwork was exhibited.
A Pi Dingbats competition was held in the dining room for ALL pupils and staff. We received an enormous amount of entries and winning entries were placed into a prize draw. Three pupils all won Helix Maths sets. A huge well done to everyone that took part.
The House competition on this day was a Pi Recital. Six pupils and one staff member took part from each House and learned as many digits of Pi as they could. These were recited in the Courtyard Studio at break time, under the bright lights of the stage. Participants all did very well indeed, but overall Buckfield House were the winners. All participants received a Pi(e) for taking part.
