The PE department took over 60 pupils to compete at the ISA Regional Athletics at Thames Valley Athletic centre in Eton on Wednesday. Pupils from Year 3 to Year 10 were selected to represent Sherfield School in running, jumping and throwing events. Sherfield took the second biggest team! The pupils did their very best in each event and there were several official PBs achieved.
Congratulations to Milo Mcdermott who won Gold in the high jump and will represent West London at the ISA National Athletics. Milo also came 2nd in the 800m narrowly missing out on his second Gold. A special mention to Year 3 pupils Darcy Eldridge and Guy Sorokopud who competed in Year 4 and 5 events. Darcy beat half the Year 4 athletes in the 600m and Guy was taking over the Year 4 Athletics in the relay. Both are ones to watch in the future!
Pravansh Kanumolu finished a very close 2nd in the 200m after a bad start to the race he made up distance on the winner who was a year older. Alfie Blackmore won Bronze in the shot putt. Nick Workman won Bronze in the Year 5 sprint, Oliver Brain threw 35m to win Bronze in the Year 5 cricket throw and Year 7 boys won Bronze in the relay.
Overall fantastic results for Sherfield!
