Collaborating and working with others can be a very stressful experience. A group project or task at school or indeed at work may be an anxious encounter for some people. However, opportunities to work within a team and build collaborative skills is really important for our children, so they experience success and understand how to work together towards a common goal. Teamwork can help sensitive students overcome their fears and learn how to deal with critique.
Young learners can be vulnerable so active involvement in collaborative activities is essential. Put simply, the more you take part in a team and make a contribution, the more confident you become. Making an effort to do your best in collaboration with others is important for your own development and prepares you for the future. Teamwork is a great chance to contribute to the project that you are involved in, and, most importantly, it can show your unique strengths and abilities. In today’s multidisciplinary world, collaboration is a crucial aspect for reaching success.
For our learners at Sherfield, there are many varied opportunities to collaborate, in and out of the classroom, in the sporting arena or on the stage. Tonight pupils from Years 5 to 8 will be participating in Young Voices at the O2 Arena in London. Collaborating with 8000 other young people from across the country, they will enjoy an amazing experience working together. Looking forward, we will have the School of Rock performance. The teamwork required to plan, practice and perform such a great show with staging, costume and technical support is incredibly impressive!
Whatever opportunities are available and there are many, I encourage all our pupils to grasp the challenge of collaboration and strive to work collegiately to develop themselves and others. Once again, thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter and collaborate in the success of Sherfield.
