The Sun Always Shines on the Righteous!
With all the talk of the looming examinations and associated academic work it was good to have the May Day Bank Holiday. On the Saturday the boarders undertook a trip to Thorpe Amusement Park. They came back exhausted but exhilarated with tales of all the new rides that they had undertaken with an army of huge cuddly toys into the bargain! We were lucky that the weather held out for us throughout the weekend.
One of the great things about our House, which all the House Staff see on a regular basis is the way that all the ages within the House mix. This was evident at our Bank Holiday Barbecue where boarders of all ages socialized with one another with no regard for the hierarchical structures of many other houses. Here Leo Guo of Year 13 sits with Marc Yang and Thomas Ye from Year 9 and Year 8 respectively.
Here two of our boarders finish off their meals with a marshmallow or two. We like to invite guests to some of our functions and we often get good reports back about our hospitality.
Mrs. Ferris, our new Matron and Julian, our new Catering Manager, discuss the rarity of their burgers! We have Holroyd Howe as our catering managers and they provide us with some top quality food. They are also more than happy to respond to the individual needs of the boarders.
We aim to get the appropriate balance of activities and have engineered the programme in order to make the work/home life balance as happy and productive as possible.
