The Gallery was a wonderful environment to be in this morning as Sherfield pupils celebrated outstanding achievements in their GCSEs, proving once again that our young people make significantly better progress than the national picture.
Our pupils have worked extremely hard to achieve impressive results with initial figures showing that 42% of grades were 9 to 7 with an impressive 93% pass rate including Maths and English. We are particularly pleased with the significant increase in pupils that have chosen Sherfield as their first choice for A-level study and we will be welcoming back more than double the number of Year 11 pupils compared with previous years, demonstrating once again that Sherfield is the place for serious Post 16 study.
“Thank you to all your wonderful teachers for all of the time and effort that you put into all of the students. You have a very happy/proud student and set of parents. We are so delighted that our son has been 'raised' in Sherfield since age 2, what an amazing investment it has been in his development and education. We're looking forward to having him continue in sixth form. Many thanks for everything!” (Parent of Year 11 student)
Mr Brain, Headmaster said “Once again we are absolutely thrilled with the superb results achieved by our students, the culmination of all the hard work, commitment and dedication to their studies. Although education should not always be about results and we should be mindful of the social and emotional benefits of attending Sherfield, it is naturally very pleasing to share in the fantastic success of our wonderful students.”
