Over the last two weeks year 3 and 4 art after school club have been working on a design for a Day of the Dead pillow.
They researched and designed a skull which they painted using heat transfer inks. These were then put under a heat press in order to transfer their designs onto satin. The pupils then practiced their sewing skills, stitching sequins and beads onto their design. Lastly these were turned into a pillow and stuffed. Pupils were able to take these home to stitch up the final seam, so they could enjoy using them as decoration for Halloween.
