Boarding Blog November 2017
This weekend we had a really eventful time. On Friday night we celebrated Bonfire Night, this is a traditional celebration in England where the capture of three men is celebrated that tried to bomb the parliament on the 5.11.1605. Throughout the whole evening guests were able to buy burgers, drinks, coffee and sweets. The flashing bunny ears were really popular and looked quite funny in the dark of the night. At about 8 o’clock the evening was finished off with amazing fireworks.
On Saturday the boarders had a choice of activities, they were able to take part in, these activities were basketball, art, dancing at school. Everyone was very pleased with their choices and would love to do these activities again. With a professional dancer the girls really enjoyed the Zumba and Street Dance session.
On Sunday morning, about 10 of us had the opportunity to go to a remembrance service for the soldiers fallen in World War 1 and 2. This was a really interesting and emotional experience especially because me (Simeon Hübbe) and Maiya Willamson laid down a wreath in front of the memorial which was really cool. The end of a really good and eventful weekend.
