This week saw the semi-finals and grand finals of the Bellevue Education Inter-School Spelling Bee!
We held 3 heats at school and the winners for each heat were Vrishank for Years 3 and 4, Raghav for Years 5 and 6 and Daniel M for Years 7 and 8.
Vrishank and Raghav therefore both went on to the semi-finals and Daniel went straight to the grand finals, due to a smaller amount of schools taking part in that age category.
Vrishank and Raghav did incredibly well competing in the semi-finals on Wednesday. Raghav came joint first in his heat therefore making it through to the grand-finals.
Raghav and Daniel both competed in the grand finals today. Raghav against 9 pupils from 9 different schools and Daniel against 3.
Huge congratulations to both Raghav in Year 5 and Daniel in Year 8 who both won the grand finals of their age categories, Raghav coming joint 1st. To come joint 1st out of all Year 5s and 6s from 16 different schools and 1st out of all Year 7s and 8s from 6 different schools is an incredible achievement. The words they were being asked to spell were extremely tricky - many adults would have struggled with them!
Watching the grand-finals was nail biting stuff and both boys did exceptionally well, we couldn't be more proud. Bellevue will be coming to Sherfield to present the trophies to Raghav and Daniel. Well done!
