The music department were extremely pleased to hold Battle of the Bands 2021 on Wednesday evening, the first live music event of the year. Relocated to the larger, more spacious fountain lawn, the event saw an eager crowd of parents and friends gather (in socially distanced groups) with their picnics to enjoy bands right the way from Year 5 up to Year 13.
The dynamic duo Bonnie and Oisin compèred the evening and for the first time, there were two categories to win – Best Senior Prep Band, and Best Seniors Band, and with 13 bands performing overall there was certainly very stiff competition!
Senior Prep bands were The Moo-Moos, Gravity Falls (Year 5), The 666, The Holy Llamas (Year 6), Wrong Direction, Kids On Capri Sun, Apollo, Atomic (Year 7), Outline (Year 8) and the Sherbets (Year 7 and 8).
Senior bands were Nothing More (Year 9 and 10), Ruby & Elliott (Year 11) and Bonnie & Oisin (Sixth Form).

Overall it was a fabulous evening with a very high standard of performance from every single band.
The weather held out until right at the end, as staff band The Boundaries took to the stage to end the evening – however several brave souls remained out in the rain with their brollies to enjoy the final few numbers!
A big thank you to Head Judge Mr James Cross (Sherfield’s drum teacher) for coming in specially, and to Olivia Baldock (Assistant judge and performer) and Mr Adam Hall (guitar teacher, performer and support to many!)
We are looking forward to Battle of the Bands 2022 already!
