A group of Year 11-13 students visited CERN, the largest particle accelerator on Earth, and the city of Geneva, just before the end of the half term.
During the tight schedule, pupils deepened their interest for Physics and discovered more about the United Nations organisation along with the history of Europe.
One student confessed: "It's been the best trip I have ever done, what scientists achieved here is mind blowing!".
The highlight of the trip was, of course, the visit to the Large Hadron Collider that was preceded by a talk from Dr De Lorenzi, former research scientist at CERN and now senior Data Scientist at Deloitte, Switzerland. The talk gave the students the opportunity to find out what studying Physics can lead to, from fundamental research to deep learning and more!
